To achieve a higher categorisation level you need to implement https scanning, web and application policies with at least allow all.

Hi, my previous version was 17.1.3 MR3, but unfortunately it doesn't look like it can categorize anything even with all of them things you mentioned turned on. I've attached another screenshot of URL Category Lookup, even that can't seem to categorize anything.

sounds more like you have a filter block somewhat or your DNS setting is incorrect which is more than likely the case.

I changed the DNS settings the other day from google dns to opendns but unfortunately this has made no difference.

Where exactly did you change the DNS settings because your test result indicates the XG is not using a DNS?

I changed them under network and dns.

Please post screen shots of your DNS settings. Did you change the DHCP server DNS settings?

Here you go, i'm currently not using the local dhcp server, i'm just relaying it off to a windows server box.

Referencing the info in this KB article:

• Could you please share your query results to the SXL server?
  • Is the same behavior experienced on the CLI?
• Share any relevant log entries from your /log/nSXLd.log
• Also if possible to test, does the same issue occur on your device if you upgrade to the new SFOS v17.5 GA? (You can rollback if needed)

I gave up on those servers, I found them too slow and not reliable. They might perform better from where you live.
