Sophos XG 105: Is it possible to have two modems (1 VDSL and 2 LTE)?

Hi!

i have a Sophos XG Firewall appliance with 1 WAN Port. Currently there is a VDSL Modem connected to it.
Now, i want to have a second modem (LTE). The connection of the VDSL-Modem should be used for VOIP and the LTE-Modem should be used for VPN an Internet.

Is this possible with Sophos XG 105? And if so, how?

  • I saw the Mobile WAN option in the XG UI.
Would it be possible to use this for my needs? What Hardware can be used in which way to use this?

Also there is a Port4 on XG 105. Is it possible to make this to a second WAN Port to connect to the LTE Modem?

Edit: There is a Port 4 on the back of the device, but it does not show up in the UI as physical Port 4. Any ideas why?

  • On my XG105, I go to Configure, Network (Interfaces) and I see Port 1 - 4. 1 = LAN, 2 = WAN. 3 + 4 disabled.

You should be able to setup a new WAN Zone under Zones (eg WAN2) and then go back to Interfaces and configure Port 4 to use WAN 2. You can also setup DHCP for the interface as well.

    So, the order should be

    1) Configure, Network, Zones and add WAN2

    2) Configure DHCP if needed and attach to Port 4

    3) Configure Port 4 to use WAN2

    Hope this helps.

  • On my XG 105, i only see GuestAP (Wifi), Port 2 (LAN), Port 2.7 (WAN) and br0.

If I goto Zones, i see LAN with members Port 1,2,3,4, WAN with member Port 2.7, DMZ, VPN and Wifi.

So, there must be a Port 4, but i can't see it under Interfaces?!

  • Most likely it is bridge in br0. Can you expand br0?
