Submitting feedback on incorrectly categorized websites

I tried to access a website (www.ampmobile.us) yesterday that was being categorized as "Spam URLs" and showing me the Sophos XG block page since I have "Spam URLs" being blocked via my web filter. This website is not spam and on the block page, it says "If you think this is incorrect, you may suggest a different category." with the "suggest a different category" linking to this website (https://secure2.sophos.com/en-us/threat-center/reassessment-request.aspx). This website brings you to the "Open a Support Case" page, which I then submitted the form for Sophos XG explaining the mis-categorization. This then opens a service request and the email I received from Sophos is to follow the Kb article which is located here (https://sophos.com/kb/119440) and the service request was closed. This Kb article then mentions you need to use this site (https://secure2.sophos.com/en-us/support/submit-a-sample.aspx) to submit a change to request recategorization.

Bottom line, if you want to submit a change request on an incorrectly categorized website, use this website: https://secure2.sophos.com/en-us/support/submit-a-sample.aspx

For the Sophos team, I think it would make more sense to link from the Sophos XG block page where it says "If you think this is incorrect, you may suggest a different category." directly to the link above.

  • I think that sophos categorization is so bad. We have an appliance in a education site and we have a lot issues with the users because they think we blocked many sites, but it is because of your explanation: They are incorrectly categorized
