Fortinet to Sophos XG

Hi,

I am planing to replace Fortinet FG200D  with  new Sophos XG230 in HA Mode as Active-Active

Is there any tool in Sophos to import / Convert configuration  to Sophos like forticare.

What is the best practice of implementation.

  • There is no tool to do this kind of migration. You could build this with the XML API but you need to understand both platforms.

Tbh, most of the times, only the objects for Hosts and definitions are worth it to migrate no matter from which platform you are coming. The policy framework handling is quite different and most of the configs are kinda outdated and needs to clean up.

  • There is lots of policy on Fortinet.  adding manually will take much time.

What is the easiest way to do the migration.

  • You should get in touch with your Partner to talk about this.

You could build up a firewall migration tool via API by yourself. So basically get all firewall rules into a file (CSV) and import them via XML API into XG. But i believe, you are faster by revisiting all your policies and rebuilding the network.
