SNMP Issue after update to 17.1.2

Hey All,

So on Wednesday we updated to 17.1.2 on one of our boxes. All seemed to go well until today, when I was trying to setup a new interface monitor via SNMP. I am having intermittent success connecting via snmpwalk, most of the time it won't connect and either times out, or when using telegraf gives a udp stream error: connection refused. I have also noticed that some of the system graphs have stopped working and that the Logging Daemon service keeps restarting (I only know this because the Services icon turns yellow and I can see the stopped service there).

Anyone had similar experiences yet? The drive isn't full, licensing is up to date, the box has been restarted.

I am on hold waiting for a support engineer, I will update if they have any information.

Cheers,

Devon

  • Hey Folks,

Just a note, I was bumped to the global escalations team. They have reviewed it and told me the issue will be fixed in the next release v17.1MR3 which will be released soon. The defect ID is NC-36299. They do have a temporary workaround they are applying to the firewall tonight. I'll let you know how that goes in case anyone needs the same fix.

    Cheers,

    Devon

  • Thanks Devon, I will be watching this thread as I think I have a similar issue.

If you get a chance, is the workaround something that you can post to this thread? I am a Sophos XG home user so don't have a support contract :)
