SNMP V2 64 bit Interface Counters

I'm surprised to see the Sophos Firewall not responding to the OID table ifXTable and everything under it. The OID is .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1

These counters are the 64 bit counters for interfaces that are higher capacity where the 32 bit counters tend to wrap to quickly when the fill up. Is anybody aware if Sophos will be fixing this?

I'm going to be trying to monitor the interfaces with the 32 bit counters but I'm going to be having to poll them every 30 seconds so they don't fill up and wrap.

Just odd to support a 10Gb interface and SNMP but not have the 64 bit counters.

  • Agreed.  I've been waiting for this to happen for a while now.  It would definitely  make my grafana dashboard  nicer looking without huge interface dips when the counters roll-over.

Add me to the list of wanting to know when this will happen...

  • I use Grafana as well and have Zabbix on the back end collecting the data. From my understanding if I poll the interface every 30 seconds then I can avoid a roll-over up to 1Gb speeds.

Though of course they just need to add the 64 bit counters to properly support it.

  • I am working on setting up grafana for sophos as well. I guess you are using the MIB file from the sophos web client, did u grab the OID's using a mib browser?

Whats ur dashboard for sophos like right now? How are u collecting data into zabbix? do u use a script? please share.
