Sophos XG and Thunderbird - e-mail subject SPAM prefix

Hey,
I have Mozilla Thunderbird installed on one of my laptops. The e-mail policy is configured so that the *** SPAM *** prefix appears in the subject of the message (this is the case in Outlook). In Thunderbird, the prefix appears in the bottom window with the message view, but it does not appear on the message list, which is quite annoying, because I do not see immediately what type of message I have to deal with. Do you know how to set the display properties so that the *** SPAM *** prefix is also visible in the message list?

Sorry for asking. It's more suited to the Thunderbird forum, but maybe one of Sophos's users knows how to set it up?

  • You did not specify if you are configured for IMAP or POP. If you are configured for IMAP and have sieve installed I would create a sieve rule that would move anything where the subject line included *** SPAM *** into your junk/spam folder. If sieve is not available the above scenario can be done inside of thunderbird. As you mentioned this is more of a presentation issue on how Thunderbird displays its subject line and is not something Sophos can do. Hope this helps. -Ron
  • Thank You rrosson,

I think it's a issue of displaying the subject, because IMAP rules are configured properly and it works in Outlook.
I will try to ask Thunderbird users in Moziila forums.

    Lucky day for You ;-)
