Sophos XG currently not usable, too many missing options and features

Currenty i am testing the "new" sopohs xg firewall and i am not happy about this appliance.

There are to many options or features missing, here a list what currently missing and exist or available on the sg firewall (utm).

 

 - Some isp's provide failover ips with gateway from host, xg do not allow gateway in another subnet! why on sg works

 - Next is renaming the interfaces, is not allowed? (if you have a huge network with many vlans you have to name the interfaces like guests, phones, printers, and so on)

 - BGP support only for ipv4 prefiexes, realy? sophos it is sleeping.... ipv6 is the future

 

I will expand the list if i have something more

Currenty i can and dont want to use the sophos xg firewalls. but my sophos contant tells me that sg will not be supported soon....

So it is a dilemma

 

Do other users have the same problem?

Whats does sophos say to this?

Sorry my opinion is, you can only release a product if it has tested and the same features as the previous product(s). why xg is not in beta?

    Hi,

    you list is very small. I suggest you do a search of the forums for more details. Also there is a list in one of the current threads about v17.2, v17.3 and v18.

    Would also pay to talk to your reseller/partner for a more upfront plan of XG and SG which will be around for a couple more years, there are plans for a v10 of UTM.
