IPSEC and SSLVPN : Next Question: Can both co-exist ?

I have put in 2-3 questions regarding SSLVPN. I have got satisfactory replies.

I had also asked information regarding IPSEC and SSLVPN-Which is better. But it seems that it depends on the case and there is no straight answer to this.

We are currently working with SSLVPN but users are complaining that the speed is not good. In fact we have switched from CR-100 to XG210. We expected better performance. But that does not seem to be the case.

We would also like to evaluate IPSEC remote connections. SO is it possible to configure IPSEC and SSLVPN both on XG210 ?  Since we have users connecting on SSLVPN already, if these two cannot co-exist, we need to stop operations and configure IPSEC and then allow users to connect. But we would like to avoid such disruption in services.

Thanks

  • Bad performance in SSLVPN can be caused by network issues like MTU size or other factors in your network.

Unlucky those issues are hard to troubleshoot because you need to analyse tcpdumps.

IPsec is faster and can co exist but IPsec is not able to exist in every network (like hotels etc.).
