IPSEC versus SSLVPN : which is better?

We have been told by various users that IPSEC is better over SSLVPN if you want allow people to connect through internet.

Is there any comparison available for the same ? How does one decide?

Right now we are using SSLVPN as it has encryption features which seem to be better.

This is strictly anecdotal, but I have a Sophos XG 210 at the office and a Sophos XG "Home" at home, and I've used both IPsec and the SSL Site to Site to connect them. I now use the SSL Site to Site. In my experience it just works and doesn't need any babysitting.

Using RED site to Site with XG - UTM and XG - XG. Works fine with the benefits of having a interface on both plattforms.
