Connecting SSLVPN through Android devices

We have to connect Samsung Android Tablet devices to our network through SSLVPN.

WQe already have SSLVPN configured and users are able to connect through Windows devices.

I have downloaded Open VPN from the playstore and downloaded the Android config file through the user portal. When I connect, it says connected and on the firewall webadmin also it shows it is connected. But our application does not run.

Once the user is connected to firewall through SSLVPN, he has to open a browser and enter a URL which refers tour internal server. This gives the login screen to login to the application.

But once the URL is entered, nothing happens. 

Any suggestions ?  Are there any debugging tools available to troubleshoot this connectivity? ( like in Windows one can go into commend prompt and check  whether one is able to ping the internal servers/ IP addresses).

If people can give me any suggestions / tips on security when using android devices to connect through SSLVPN as well as performance improvement tips are welcome.
