Had my first experience setting up a Sophos XG 105 this week and wanted to let Sophos folks that I had a great experience.
I have one comment ---
My familiarity with prior SonicWall experiences made the Sophos relatively easy to set up, but I had a devil of a time figuring out why my firewall rules appeared to be blocking WAN traffic for DNAT'd LAN servers. I eventually decided to take a long break and sleep on it. The next day, without having changed my configuration, all access was working.
I can only surmise that the appliance firmware/software got updated overnight. I do now recall that at initial setup, to save time, I elected not to update software/firmware to the latest level.
My advice for all folks going through initial setup is to take the time to DOWNLOAD THE UPDATES!!!
Needless to say, I strongly commend your product.
