Hardware compatibility list?

Is there a way to find out when new hardware is compatible?

I have a Super Micro A2SDi-4C-HLN4F laying arround, waiting for a compatible Sophos XG :)

  • Hey

Is your question in regards to a Sophos XG Home Edition install?

Unfortunately there isn't an available list regarding this, however as long as your hardware is Intel and has dual network interfaces, you shouldn't experience any issues. Some searching on our community forums shows many users who have been able to get their firewall setup on their x86/64 hardware.

    Regards,

  • Yes, its about the home version. And this mainboard is not working currently, I tried for days no chance.

  • Hi,

I have reviewed the specifications of your motherboard and as far as I can tell it should work.

Remember 6gb of RAM is the maximum a home XG will use.

The only proviso is the SoC and where there is a compatible driver included. You might need to configure the SoC in BIOS to a suitable setup.

  • I really tried to change any possible option in BIOS/UEFI. Its just not booting into the stick at al.

Its the 17.06 (latest download) and its booting on aanother mainboard.

I tried UEAFI boot Legacy, but its does allows both anyway.

I really have to idea what to change.

    What do you mean by

"The only proviso is the SoC and where there is a compatible driver included. You might need to configure the SoC in BIOS to a suitable setup."

  • According to the website the SoC assigns some of the resources of the motherboard and without a motherboard I am not able to determine whether it will affect you or not?

What sort of storage device is installed in the XG?

What does the display show when you try to boot?

  • Its going straight into UEFI shell, I dont get any boot screen or anything alike.

I use a USB Stick for boot and a Samsung 64GB SSD.

  • Bumping this thread, any chance anyone has been able to get XG to boot on this board?

Looking at a new XG build and this CPU/Mobo combo looks tempting...
