GA and MR?

Hi.

Reading something about Sophos XG Upgrades, i have noticed "GA" and "MR" in releases names, my question is. What is the difference?

For example: SFOS 17.1.0 GA and SFOS 17.0.7 MR7 Released.

    Welcome to the Sophos Community!

    GA stands for General Availability, and is usually the first major release in the version series (i.e 17.0-GA, 17.1-GA) that includes additional new features.

    MR stands for Maintenance Release, and usually contains bug fixes, optimizations, and improvements for that version series (17.0.8 MR-8).

    Depending on the individual release, they are usually available via your MySophos Portal for manual download and installation. Otherwise, releases are made available in stages and to be made available slowly over time to more customers via On-the-box upgrade (new firmware available pop-up & Check for new Firmware).
