Block all access of hardcoded IP addresses

Hello

At home, we use lots of Made In China devices(including reputed ones - hikvision etc), and I see that almost ALL of these devices make a small call periodically to their homebase(China) and a few others to Singapore data center(of Amazon).

How do I block ALL these requests?  Since a few of them call back to Singapore(and one chinese product even sends to one google owned ip), country based block wont work.

So, how do I block all access to all addresses which are made by these devices? All these requests are by IP addresses.

Thank you

nitin

PS - I cannot change the devices - They are cheap - I just want the backdoor or keepalives to be blocked.

  • Hi,

    Good day!

May I ask how do you blocked country host on your Set-up? It should be working as I have tried this in all firmware versions of SFOS.

    Warm Regards,

    Deo

  • Hello

I have not blocked by country (I have never used this feature - but I think exists).

What I want is to block all numbered access. This is typical of chinese devices which provide backdoor access to their government.

Eg - My Audiocast device regularly pings and sends some 180bytes to 103.235.46.39.(Some server in China) It does so by calling http://103.235.46.39.

Same with lots of CCTV cams(this is big noo but even respected companies have pingbacks - telling they are soldiers in reserve for you know what)

So, I want all these chinese devices to stop reporting. Easiest solution - block all calls which are numbered. (I can say with certainty that all these kind of devices try to upload data with hardcoded IP address)

So, I want to block everything that is http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and not http://abcd.xyz.abc

    Hopefully its clear.

    Thanks
