XG 125 activity & links front lights going off and on?

Received a new XG 125 yesterday and when I set it up today I noticed the front lights for Port 1 LAN config were going out then back on but the rear light stayed lit and no loss of connectivity.  When I also connected another device on Port 3 it did the same thing till I reconfigured the port to WAN for a failover device - it stays lit under WAN config.  Port 2 is WAN and has been staying lit properly.   Power cycled the unit and same thing.  Connected port 1 to a Unifi switch and same thing off then on.  Anyone else seen this before?

  • No this is some other odd issue.  I have installed several XG devices so I know how the light work on the front.  When plugging a switch into Port 1 the Link light should stay on solid lit and the the activity light will flicker as normal use.  The issue I am having is both lights go out just like if you unplugged the cable from the XG but there is no loss of connectivity.  Also the connectivity and activity lights on the back of the unit where the cable plugs in stay lit and flash as it should.  This is only happening on a port that is configured for LAN use as port 2 & 3 are configured for WAN use and the lights stay on like they should.  I also switch port 4 to LAN to test and it also would go out completely like port 1.  The best way to describe it is taking a light switch and turning it off and on with port 1 on the network stays working and the rear lights work as well.

  • Are you able to notice any interface log entries in your log viewer?

What SFOS firmware version are you running?

  • No loss of connectivity - constant pings from a computer to the XG in one windows and constant pings to Google DNS in another.  Link light stay lit on the test switch.  I also have tried another switch which is a Unifi model that is going with it to the client and the link stays solid and works fine.  Is is almost just cosmetic that the front light goes out as there is not disconnect or drops.

    The SFOS is 17.0.8 MR-8.

I have also attached a dropbox link to a video clip I made you  to get a clearer picture of what it is doing.  Port 1 of the XG is the yellow cable going into port 8 of the switch and the link light on the switch is visible.
