Block Just Facebook Video Streams

You can go to Applications and create a new App Filter or add a rule to an existing one.

Just make sure to select the correct Facebook feature you want to block and set the action to block at the bottom of the window.

I have the same filter on my office and it works for desktop and mobile devices.

Remember to select the App filter on the correct policy.

I'm running SFOS 17.1.0 GA on my appliance and that's why your App Filter tab is different but it's the same idea for what you want to accomplish.

Since I'm on the latest version I've noticed that the "Facebook Video Playback" option was recognized by the Cloud Application feature and I don't remember if in in the older versions you got something similar.

I found it.  Just had to drive deeper into the policy.

Will this really work to block Facebook video streams?

I only ask because I opened a Sophos support ticket and was told there is no way to block Facebook video streams on the XG appliance and my only option is to block all of Facebook.

As I said before, I'm on the latest XG firmware version and it has a new feature called "Cloud Application".

I can tell you that it is possible, I've tested the filter and it's working fine.

You can apply a policy only for your host and test the App filter just to make sure.
