I have a home built Sophos firewall which is working great that has 2 Nics. I have a need to add a third NIC, the old hardware cannot support a third NIC, so I decided it would be a good idea to configure a new Sophos firewall on another box with 3 Nics.
I discovered afterwards, that sophos does not like Nic changes. Performing a full backup of my old XG and importing it to the new hardware cause all kinds of strange issues, and trying to export the configuration only of the old firewall and importing it into the new one failed.
My goals are two fold:
1. Migrate over the VPN Users, and authentication certificates, so that my current VPN users do not need to reconfigure the VPN client side.
2. Reduce the amount of work as much as possible to perform the migration.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to achieve this. I considered doing a partial configuration export/import, but I quickly realised I don't know which components to choose to backup to achieve my goal.
