VMware Workstation 14 Player: Unable to detect Primary disk

Hi I am trying to install XG at home to test it out. Upon booting the ISO i get the message 'Unable to detect Primary disk'. I have tried SCSI, IDE, SATA but none have worked. Is there a specific x64 'other linux kernel' option i should be using?

Thanks

  • Hi Ross,

As suggested  earlier you may use the VMware Template as use the serial key assigned to you when you register for Sophos Home.

  • Aha very nice, thank you both. Now I can play!

I didn't follow the instructions to mount the image after creating the VM from template and had serial issues, got up early and its now 4am.... bed soon.

I deleted 2 of the 4 network adaptors, added a CDROM to mount the ISO, it installed to the 160GB disk, then I removedthe 32GB hard disk otherwise it boots from that.

Rebooted and bingo the serial worked. All is good.
