Dyndns

Hi,

I'm doing the initial configuration of a XG firewall, in lab, not in the production environment.

So the IP on the WAN interface is a Private IP.

When setting up the DYNDNS with SOPHOS as provider ( https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/123126) it says the service is currently unavailable.

Questions:

--> Is it an error in SOPHOS DynDNS service or is it caused for the WAN interface not having a public IP address ?

--> IS this service safe when using it as address for remote VPN access ?

Hi,

dydns service works. I can't see how setting up DYDNS would work with a non public IP address because you cannot advertise it on the internet and therefore nothing can reach it.

Today I configured again the DyDNS, following the same procedure, and it's working.

Problably there was a problem with the service.

The device will have an Public IP address, nevertheless dyndns can be configured without any problemas in double-nated devices.
