Cyberoam CR35iNG upgraded to XG 17 crashing randomly

Hello All,

I have a customer who I upgraded their CR35iNG from Cyberoam Firmware to Sophos Firmware. It is currently running V17.0.6.

I had been trying to track an issue where the unit was randomly getting an interface drop error, but have since discovered that the unit appears to be crashing the firmware and restarting, as I noticed that the Up time clock resets as well.

Checking the logs, does not specifically show anything, as the System log appears to be cleared upon the restart.

Anybody else experiencing anything like this?

  • Hello.

I thought that the Cyberoam to XG Migration forum would be the best one for this question.

It is a Cyberoam unit, but it is running the Sophos XG 17.0.6 firmware.

    Regards

    Gavin

  • Hi Gavin,

My apologies for this, I would advise upgrading to the latest MR version release (MR-8) and observing if this issue continues to occur.

  • Hey

Anybody know if there is a tool to create a text dump of a Sophos XG configuration.

I have loaded 17.1 on this unit and it is still rebooting.

I wish to reset to defaults and reconfigure from scratch, but documenting all the hosts, users, rules ect is time consuming.

Dont want to do a backup and restore, as I expect that the issue is related to the upgrade procedure, and this wont resolve that.

This is the only unit that i have done a SG to XG upgrade and factory reset, and the only one which is giving issues.
