Hi everyone. I am a new user for firewall. I purchased a xg105 utm with 50 users. I have total 50 computers. 10 computer are for Admins and remaining 40 are for normal user.
the IP I have assigned is 192.168.0.5 - 55 (192.168.0.5 -14 for admins and rest 192.168.0.15 - 50 are for other users). I have created two polices i.e admin_policy and normaluser_policy.
I was wondering is there any way I can configure my device so that if anyone login with admin IP's (i.e. 192.168.0.5 - 14) the policy of admin gets affected and if someone login with normal user IP (i.e 192.168.0.15 - 50) then normal user policy applies automatically. I also want normal users to get a login page before they can access the internet. please help guys and if u know please tell steps to configure this....thnx in advance.

    It is very simple, you just need to create two source base firewall rule as bellow.

     

    Rule 1 (General User)

    Src Zone: LAN

    Src Net.: IP host range (192.168.0.15 - 192.168.0.50)

    Dst Zone: WAN

    Dst Net.: Any

    Match known user: Enable

    Show captive portal: Enable

    Web&App policy: User Policy

    Rewrite source address: Enable

     

    Rule 2 (Admin User)

    Src Zone: LAN

    Src Net.: IP host range (192.168.0.5 - 192.168.0.14)

    Dst Zone: WAN

    Dst Net.: Any

    Match known user: Enable

    Show captive portal: Enable

    Web&App policy: Admin Policy

    Rewrite source address: Enable
