How to setup reporting to display names instead of ip address

Hi there,

 

I'm on xg105,i do not have ad AD nor a DNS Server.Whenever i generate the report,it show ip address of the user.

How do i make names show instead of ip?

    Hi,

    the answer really depends on how many users you have and how they connect?

    If your users always connect via wifi for some and others by ethernet then you need to move to clientless users and static DHCP assignments within the XG.

    If however your users are many and use a mix of media to connect then the task becomes a little tedious to maintain.

    Hi Andrew ,

    You have two options in this scenario. 

    Option 1.

    Create User names on the XG device and configure authentication via captive portal or authentication agent. 

    Option 2. 

    Create Client-less users and assign Static DHCP for all Systems in the network. This would provide you the users names associated with their traffic without authentication needed.
