XG105 - VPN unable to ping hostname

Question

i have a simple network with 3 pc and 1 server and the xg105.The server is used for file sharing and that's all. 
 the pc's are mapped drive to the server with an ip of 192.168.2.150. 
 
 im able to use vpn to connect and access my server only thru ip address. 
 ex:\192.168.2.150\c$ 
 
 how do i make this xg105 a dns server so that i can access my server using name. 
 ex:\andrewserver\c$ 
 
 I've gone to network-dns-dns host entry and configure as below: 
 hostname:amcserver 
 entry type:manual 
 ip address:192.168.2.150 
 and tick add reverse dns lookup. 
 
 I know i can edit the hostfile in each pc but it defies the purpose. 
 
 Is there something im missing out or this model does not have dns support?

Hi, 
 
 in the VPN Settings you can configure a dns server to use in the VPN. 
 You can use your internal DNS.

 You have two options to configure the Hostnames. 
 
 Option 1. Configure WINS which is effective for a large scale network. This configuration option is provided with SSL/L2TP/PPTP VPN is provided with this option

 Option 2. You may use XG as your DNS server and Configure Static DNS entry hostname and enter the PC manually. This would require static DHCP configuration on the PC you wish to connect the drives to .

Hi Andrew , 
 You may use the hostname as well e.g MySharedrive > 192.168.1.2 WINPCDrive > 192.168.1.3 or simply "Share" >192.168.1.5 YOu may choose NETBIOS name if needed.
