17.0.8 MR8 is out...

...But what's different?

Still getting issues with the graphs showing astronomical values, but not noticed anything obvious yet that's changed.

Its in the portal, you have to manually download it.

  • Is there something different about this update that it won't be available from within Sophos XG itself? According to the release:

"We've finished SFOS v17.0.8 MR8. This release is available in stages. In first stage it will be available at MySophos. Next week, it will be available from within your device for all SFOS v17.0 installations and later it will be available to v16.05 installations as well."

This was posted on 10 May.

  • Hi folks,

the MR-8 advice was it would not be pushed to existing devices, if you wanted it you need to download and install it yourself. There were no fixes, just an update to an included package as part of Sophos' membership in an organisation.

  • Ahh ok, thank you for an honest answer;  I mean why is Sophos soo freaking cryptic about their updates and what it contains and where it goes....does the advertising or any other department have a look at that?  I mean damn that is detrimental in these times of constant changes.....I mean honestly....look out for yourselves or you will be swallowed by a less effective but more flashy solutions....in the end it's not the engineers, IT professionals, Specialists, that make the decision;;;;it's the upper management and if they see your flashy sparky OMG presentation then they will invest in it!  Just an FYI.

Oh yeah and if you are shielding behind "yeah but we got Gov funding" then think again.

  • Uhm, I thought mr-7 was not going to be pushed. Mr-8 has a ton of vpn  fixes in it. Release notes clearly show that.

  • Hi Scott,

you could be correct, I might have the versions back to front, if so I apologise for leading you astray.
