Slow web browsing

Hi community,

I'm facing what it looks like a regular issue, I have a XG230 and the web browsing is incredible slow when I'm applying a web filter (even the "allow all"), it takes 15 to 30 secs to load a webpage. Once the web filter field is set in "none" the web browsing works perfect.

Already tried setting malware and content scanning at the minimum protection or best performance/faster user experience in order to decrease the scanning time, keeps happening the same issue.

Any idea what more can be happening or what can I do?

Please, If you have a comment or the answer to this, help me ASAP, CEO and many other people are really angry for selecting sophos because of this problem.

Rgds.

  • Hi Juan,

Check #4, #4.1 and $4.2 in my troubleshooting guide here. Alongside, using none as web filter means skipping the XG's HTTP proxy to process the request and if that resolves the issue then verify if you have a QoS policy on Web categories. What happens if you restart the Web Proxy services from System Services | Services | Web Proxy? What is the CPU utilization? Have you tried flushing the conntrack table?

    Thanks,

  • Hi Sachingurun,

Currently no errors or dropped packets in the interfaces, there was a Traffic Shaping Policy applied over some apps and webs, I just deleted those. I will make some test and any further info I wil update you through this post.

Thanks for the Troubleshooting guide, it is very helpful.

    Rgds.
