Sometimes it's happening in quick succession. The rest of the Guests on this host aren't experiencing any issues.

I have recently upgraded to v17 of the OS on the guest, but I am guessing it was happening on v16 as well.

Anyone seen this before?

  • Hmm OK. I had configured 4 VCPU and 1GB Memory. I am unsure how I got that so wrong. I am sure I would have followed the recommended specs.

However, I had dynamic memory configured with a 1GB Startup and allowed to use 16GB

I have changed it to static and 2GB. I also changed back to 1VCPU.

It's just a play box for me, it services 5 or so devices.

  • Well after multiple daily reboots for the past few months, I haven't had one for 5 days since updating the memory.

I am really very very surprised that this resolved my issue. It seems unacceptable to me that a lack of memory would cause a hard shutdown of the appliance. No warnings about low memory or anything. I am very concerned about how poor memory management is on these appliances that this could be the issue.

Is this a known issue (poor memory management)?

It would affect my willingness to supply this product to customers.
