Remove IP config from PHYs with VLAN interfaces

Is it possible to remove the mandatory IP configuration from PHY interfaces that happen to have VLAN interfaces?  Most scenarios using VLANs will not use VLAN1 and therefore will not need IP services on the root PHY but the XG will not let it be configured without v4\v6 configured - adds to confusion and is a waste.

  • Sure - but even using a dummy zone still does not prevent obtaining an IP via DHCP.  It depends solely on the config at the other end of the PHY.  Even if the PHY's MAC is mucked to something like all 1s, it could still get an IP from the remote end...

This should just be fixed - I can't imagine it's difficult to do...
