Reaching a device from XG LAN network that is "in front" of a RED device

Hi,

I have a RED 15 in Split Mode that is connected via a transfer network to internet.

RED network 192.168.10.0/24

external RED IP is 192.168.99.0/24

Surely it is no problem to connect from RED Client to devices in 192.168.99.X.

I want to use a backup device in 192.168.99.X to backup date from XG LAN.

Because there are no Server in RED Client network I need to connect from a server (connected to XG) directly to the backup device. Possible?

I have no idea how to do so.

  • Unfortunately this is not possible.

The reason is, the RED is not capable of routing the traffic like you want. You would need to add these routes on RED Device, instead the RED has basic routes like "route everything into the tunnel" or "route everything except 80/443 into the tunnel".

Would suggest instead of RED to use a small XG Appliance with IPsec (in the base license - so no subscriptions needed).

    Cheers
