Compatibility between TMG2010 with 32GB RAM & Sophos XG 430/450

Dear all,

we have recently installed Forefront TMG2010 with 32GB RAM, Manage(Users 1000-1500), we are now moving to Sophos XG 430/450 with 16GB RAM, please advise is Sophos with 16GB RAM compatible for managing Users (1000-1500) because TMG 2010 with 32GB RAM can easily manage the users with above limits.

Need Quick Response.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Akhtar

  • Hi Akhtar,

It's pretty hard - it depends on the kind of users. In our installation there were a lot of intensiv-using user. (e.g. office 365). We had only wedprotection (without ssl) and firewalling active. The Webproxy had an average load of 3-4.

Maybe you can make an proof-of-concept using the xg/sg 450?

  • Hi,

You should get in touch with your Sophos Reseller, because if it is not suitable in sizing, nobody here can help you.

XG/SG hardware uses the same resources (So - XG450 = SG450). Only the OS difference (SFOS - UTM9).

    Cheers
