Need NIC for home version of XG

Hi Folks,

I need a 2 port NIC that will work with XG that I can order quickly for a home version install.  I bought a Dell T30, but it doesnt like the onboard NIC.  Any suggestions?

I'm thinking a Intel Pro 1000/PT   ?

  • Hi ,

You may use any Intel chip based NIC cards.  unless you have a fiber connection 1000/PT would not be needed for WAN. As for Inter LAN communication, it should go through your switch.

  • Thanks Aditya. I went with the Pro 1000/PT as that's the cheapest card   could find with a 2 day delivery time from Amazon.  I have ethernet(cat5/copper) hand off from cable modem so no need for fiber.   If this card does not work when it arrive I will reply back back to the thread.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Aditya,

Please advise if i can use  " Dell Intel Pro/1000 VT PCI-E Quad Port Gigabit Server Adapter" for Sophos XG Home Edition

Im wanting to plug this on my desktop and install Sophos XG as a VM on VMWare workstation

The onboard Realtek NIC has stopped responding after updating drivers ( it was working before )

    Appreciate any assistance

    Thanks
