Hello everyone,
I hope my discussion is in the right topic - if not please feel free to move it to the right corner.
Today morning my XG (17.0.6 MR-6, home license) was working properly and I was able to connect via SSL VPN with my mobile phone. Later the day someone wanted to connect with L2TP VPN which failed.
I had a look at the web UI to see if there were some issues and indeed the Antivirus service was not running.
After hitting the "Start" button nothing happened so I took a deep look to the AV logs -> /bin/avd: error while loading shared libraries: /sdisk/savapi/libsavapi3.so: invalid ELF header
So far I never had any issues with AV.
I went to the /sdisk/savapi folder and created a copy of libsavapi3.so and deleted the original file, hit the start button of the service again at the Web UI and the service started without any issues - also the log did not mentioned any problems.
Later the day my XG did not respond so I was forced to have a look direct at the firewall (no remote access was able). It booted to failsafe mode as the pattern database (if I remember right) was not there.
Even after flushing the logs + restore factory defaults it was only booting to failsafe mode.
I needed to downgrade to 17.0.5 and reinstalled the 17.0.6 version which worked fine. After that I have imported my weekly backup and the firewall was doing it's job again BUT again the AV is not starting - so I needed to remove the libsavapi3.so file again (otherwise I get an error on any unencrypted website).
Anyone else having such issues with the XG?
By the way: I have different VLANs and manually set the MTU to 9000 to enable jumbo packages which worked without any problems so far.
Kind regards,
Mathias
