Lose LAN connection shortly after restarting firewall

Hi,

After I boot the firewall, my computer on LAN (Port1) gets its IP. I can surf the internet without issues.

After a few minutes, I loose connection. But IP remained unchanged. It is not a DNS issue since I can not ping 8.8.8.8 (Google).  I reset the connection (ipconfig /release,  ipconfig /renew) and DHCP is still giving the same IP, mask and DNS but does not allow me to connect to the WAN neither the firewall.

I restart the firewall and everything is back to normal for a few minutes.

In the log viewer, nothing tells me there is an issue.

I did not change the default firewall rule.

What could be the issue?

  • Here what I found in the system log:

    2018-04-06 15:34:13 SYSTEM messageid="17813" log_type="Event" log_component="Interface" log_subtype="System" interface="Port1" message="Interface Port1 is Down"

I've replaced my network cables just in case and connected the computer directly to the LAN port. The WAN port has no issue and is connected to a layer 2 switch which I use daily for my main computer and VOIP phone.

No change, I had to restart the firewall again.

  • I might have found the issue...

I left 3 Google Chrome tabs open with the firewall web interface. Chrome tries to reconnect these pages every time the connection is back. So I've closed these pages and I did not loose the connection since then.

Could it be some kind of firewall protection?
