XG 330 Enforcing Safe Search Issue

Hi All,

Is anyone else having an issue enforcing safe search for certain browsers? Safari and Firefox are working correctly for all search engines and end users cannot turn safe search off via browser settings. Google chrome is the only browser giving me issues. On one computer (Mac) it is enforcing it correctly and I cannot turn it off on another computer (Mac) it is not enforcing and I can toggle the safe search setting at will.

Both browsers are the latest version.

Yes both computers are connected to the same network.

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

  • Hi,

Chrome uses udp 443 which can only be blocked with a specific rule at this stage. My understanding from other posts is this will be fixed in v17.1.

  • hmmm okay, any idea when that update will come ?

Also its worth mentioning that the enforce safe search still does not work in chrome. (when my special rule is off) That rule, at the top is to allow youtube and youtube app content unrestricted because with out it its too restricted but I love the enforce safe search option. I wish they would make a separate checkbox to enforce safe search and to enforce youtube restricted mode that will solve all my problems.
