XG Noob here (formally Watchguard Firebox, OPNSense).
I've just given XG a try, replacing OPNSense on a custom silent PC (Braswell N3160 1.6GHz 4 core, 8GB ram, 128GB SSD). Everything has gone smoothly but IP Sec remote access is very slow - I'm getting about 1MB down, 2MB up on both an iPhone and Android device on two separate 100MB+ LTE networks. The broadband itself is PPPoE at about 70MB down, 50MB up.
The CPU is AES-NI enabled and is hovering around 35% memory usage and 15% CPU under load. I've setup a firewall policy to allow VPN to LAN & WAN with NAT MASQ.
Anything I can do to speed things up? On the identical hardware, OPNSense's IPSec was about 10/20x faster.
