IPV6 routing

I'm trying to figure out where my issue is here - I'm getting IPV6 addresses from the XG on all of my client devices, and my ISP is handing me a /64 which is shown on the interface list.  However, I can't get any IPv6 traffic to route to the internet.  I set things up like my old UTM was setup and it was working for IPV6 routing.  I've assigned my internal interface an IPv6 address.

Any ideas of where to start to look? I'm not familiar on how NAT is setup on the XG yet... maybe that's where I need to look?

  • Hi,

did your ISP give you a /56 to use on your LAN?

You need to setup IPv6 rules. NAT is the same as IP4 use MASQ. Some of the match user functions do not seem to work consistently eg match known users doesn't, but match a specific user does.

The XG treats IP4 and IPv6 as two seperate firewalls, but not all IP4 features are available in IPv6.

  • My ISP is giving me a /64 (which is what I'm seeing on the WAN interface side).  I tried the IPV6 match to use all users not specifics.. very generic setup.

  • Hi Casey,

that /64 is only for your external link. If your ISP is like my ISP I get an IPv6 /56 assigned by DHCP but the XG does not recognise or even log the assignment, that is why I have a small UTM in front of of the XG.

Currently having issues getting IPv6 to work with the XG, s I have disabled IPv6 again. Everything but google works with my IPv6 setup.
