XG v17.0.6 - can ping but no WebGui - esxi 6.5 - same HW sophos utm works

Hi guys,

I've been a user of Sophos UTM for the past 4 years and not that the XG seems stable enough, i wanted to make the switch.

ESXi 6.5 hardware:

i5u/dual intel NIC/8gb ram/120gb SSD

This ESXi box it the one I'm using at the moment with my current Sophos UTM - the idea was to create a new VM with XG, shut down the Sophos UTM VM so, the rollback option is really simple and safe.

I've downloaded the SW version and the Virtual version (i've tested both with the same result), create my new VM following the minimum requirements, I've given this VM 2v-CPU, 6gb ram, 60gb HDD, 2 nic (vmxnet3) and I've selected RedHat7.x 64bit for the os - installation was fine, I've rebooted, accepted the ELA and leave everything default

On my laptop, I've set my IP to 172.16.16.1, mask 255.255.255.0, gateway and DNS:172.16.16.16 - I've tried to ping the Sophos XG on 172.16.16.16 and it worked!!!

Open my browser (tried with Chrome, Firefox, IE, edge), go to https://172.16.16.16:4444 and nothing...

went back to the console, advanced shell, restart the web server... still, the same result, can't access the WebGUI but can ping

I'm a bit confused as this setup is the same as for my Sophos UTM, on the same hardware, and Sophos XG doesn't display the WebGUI...

Can someone point what I'm missing?

Try to reset default Web Admin Certificate in console.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I've already tried this option as it was one of the 2 options I've found on the forum (1-restart the webserver, 2- reset the webadmin certificate) but nothing changed after the reset...

I've tried on both version (vm image install and on the SW-iso install) - still able to ping the box but no webgui - also tried to reboot the box and try again but same result

I'll add some screenshot later tonight once i get home from work

One of our customers has the issue too .

And they rollback to old version to resolve the issue finally...
