SFM Restoring from a Backup fail! What's the point of backing up??

All,

So I have a trial of SFM in my home lab for the most part working okay. I'm playing around with my VM environment so I created a new SFM VM then tried restoring from a backup, no dice! It LOOKS like it restores, but when I look at the logs it just says 'Restore Failed'

Thinking it didn't like something in the new VM I tried to restore over the top of the existing VM. NOPE! Same thing!!

What the heck?? Why is this such a problem? Why do backups if you can never restore them??

I'm running: SFMV5 (SFMOS 16.05.1 MR-1

Anyone else run into this?

Sophos, any thoughts?
