Version 17 - Firewall Rule Grouping Processing Order

Greetings Everyone,

 

I had a question about the processing order of grouped firewall rules. Does the device process the firewall rules in order per individual firewall group or all the rules as a whole regardless of how they are grouped ?

    Thanks for your reply. So I am assuming that the Groups themselves are processed in order as well ? I just stared looking at this feature so I do not have anything to report as far as behavior I just wanted a understanding of the rule processing utilizing this feature.

     

    rfcat_vk: I would presume that it would help with organizing large rule sets similar to the way Cisco groups its ACLS per ingress interface however Sophos adds the benefit of grouping rules into what ever category you wish.
