Captive Portal certificate error

I upgraded the Cyberoam 50inG to Sophos 17.05 MR-5.

But when any client is opening captive portal for logging in, it gives certificate error.

Error: THE ROOT CA CANNOT BE VALIDATED/TRUSTED.

It's the problem with all client's as now captive portal is redirected via HTTPS.

I have regenerated the appliance certificate but still the problem persists.

What is the resolution?

  • Saquib,

you need to import the CA inside your browser in order to aboid the certificate error. The other option is to use HTTP on captive portal. Go to Authentication > Services> Last section of the page: Untickt Captive Portal uses HTTPS.
