[SOLVED] Issues with APs

Hello all,

I've been experiencing some issues lately with APs configured as 'Bridge to LAN'.

First time, I saw the APs as 'Inactive' on the firewall, since we were implementing POL on our network infrastructure I thought this was due to the dBs on the ONTs.

After we fix the dBs issues with the ONTs, I was unable to see the APs as 'Active', I delete those from the firewall to accepted again but now it's not showing APs as 'Pending'.

We have XG 310 - SFOS 17.05 MR5 and 15 AP55C, right now I can only see 10 of 15 APs on the firewall.

Already upgrade the firmware 11.0.001
Reboot the service on the appliance.
Reboot APs
All 15 APs have IP

Hi,

How do the LeD blinks on these APs? Refer to, https://www.sophos.com/en-us/medialibrary/PDFs/documentation/sophoswirelessoien.pdf?la=en.pdf. Alongside, in the awed.log file, look for log lines related to the affected APs. PM these log lines and I will take a look. For log file information, please refer to https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/123185.

It might be possible that these APs were not able to update to its latest firmware and might need to be flashed or RMA.

Finally, if you have a case# in support, let me know so I can add more eyes to it.

Hello Sachingurung,

At the first time LED were static green, then start flashing green and after that goes to slow blinking red LED, it keeps rebooting asking for DHCP to the firewall even if the firewall send the packets.

I don't have awed.logs right now because I'm not on site. I will PM you the ticket number so you can take a look at what we found troubleshooting the APs on the remote session we had yesterday.

APs were able to update to the latest firmware:

As I said before, I was in a remote session yesterday with Sophos support to check this issue and they're calling this APs for RMA.

If the RMA is processed for the affected APs then I guess the APs were faulty.

UPDATE: This issue was nothing more then firmware updating and due to the fact they were not used for 4+ months. After extended amount of time they switched to "Active"

Hello Jeremy Cullen,

Glad to hear that in your case was only a firmware update issue.

For our APs I had to set the "Channel Width 5Ghz" to "20MHz" to see the APs as actives.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the RMA was applied but I was still unable to see the APs as active, after the remote session with support they recommend to set the value on "Channel Width 5GHz" to "20MHz".
