DHCP is not working

Hi,

I configured a DHCP-Server for a Network (LAN-port) but it isn't working. What are the right properties in this case. It's a XG-Firewall home in a virtual enviroment. I am able to connect a Windows-Client by using a fixed ip-address to the Firewall -> it works. If I reconfigure the Windows-Client for using dhcp, the Client isn't get a ip-address. What is the reason for this?

  • Renanena,

are you using XG as DHCP server or do you have a VM that acts as DHCP server?

    Thanks

  • In my network I have currently a dhcp-server. For testing I switched off this dhcp-server. So for testing the XG-Firewall-DHCP-Server (only for the LAN-port) it is the only one.

But now I saw, there is a configuration in the XG FW by the sub-menu "host and services". Is it necessary to activate a dhcp-Service generally before I can do it for a special port?

    many thanks for your reply

    Bernd
