How to delete an interface

I've build a XG FW for my home situation. So far so good, all needs can be fullfilled.

I started out with an old PC with 4 NIC's. I only need 3 so i tried to remove  the spare. First i made sure the interface was not assigned  and it shows as being unbound.

When i remove the NIC and restart the machine LAN isn't available any more.

Any pointers on how i shood approach this problem?

Thank you, Peter-Paul

  • Hi,

not sure why you would delete an interface, just don't assign it. If you mean you physically removed it then the XG would have re-ordered you interfaces.

Basically, you need to remove all cables, then plug your lan cable in until you get an IP address in the correct range and work from there.

Of course there is always the console to connect to and see what ports are connected.
