Sophos RED device provides internet with no connection to the XG

1-: Does RED device has a configuration option that allow the branch office to remain connected to the internet, while the tunnel between Sophos XG and RED is down?. which mode we should use for this type of fail-over purpose.

2:- can i use RED feature for trial base for testing my requirement.

Hi,

would recommend any XG1xx for such a scenario.

Maybe Transparent / Split Mode on RED: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/116573

in Transparent / Split Mode when the tunnel goes down, the internet will also go down for any devices behind the RED.( https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/116573) as per this document.

Hi,

like mentioned: Would recommend you a XG1xx instead of a RED.

You can use the RED protocol to build up a RED Tunnel between both appliances.

And manage the appliance itself to have a better handling.

can i build RED tunnel without public IP. I mean tunnel is possible with dynamic IP.

The RED Appliance will build up the tunnel, so yes, it is possible.

You can see the RED Appliance as a client, XG is the server.
