XG85 upgrade from 16.5 MR9 to 17.0 MR5 hanged- traffic forwards, not able to login

Hello,

I started upgrade of my XG85 from 16.5 MR9 to 17 MR5. After a while I was logged out and not being able to log back in. Login page responds after about a minute with "Login failed" error, device is processing packets, RED tunnel is up, but DHCP server is not working. It has been in this state for about 2 hours now. Its at remote location so I dont have fast access to it.

Will it finish upgrade, or do I need to reboot it?

Hi Martin,

I think you best to talk to your reseller or Sophos support, from memory there was a post about the XG85 not being able support v17.0 MR5

I was able to get into via ssh and tried to reboot it, waiting now if it does anything. Command response is about 10 minutes. Firmware 1 was still the 16.05.9

After ssh reboot command applied, system rebooted to 17 MR5. But if its really not supported, it is a bit disturbing at least. In My Sophos it is offering 16.05 MR9 and 17 MR5

Hi Martin,

nothing formal yet, but I am not a reseller, just a forum addict. Check your resource usage, that will give you an idea whether your XG is under stress or not.
