Hi,
I'm a home user of XG software. I have built a custom PC to use as a router. It is a mini-ITX board with four core Intel Celeron J1900. It was running fine until the V17 upgrade. After the update, I'm struggling to get decent throughput.
On V15 and V16, it was running like a charm achieving 200Mbps and more. V17 only gets to 20Mbps. I have decided to do a clean start and erased the SSD and made a full installation of V17.05 but the performance with just a single "Allow All" rule is still terrible. I have switched all: IPS, Web security, Logging. It didn't help.
Do anyone know if V17 relies on a feature in CPU which is not present in J1900? I know that J1900 does not have AES instructions, but it should not matter until some encryption is in use. Single rule packet routing should not involve any AES activities, right? Come on, the hardware is more than enough for home use and is more powerful than the CPU in XG85.
