Ok My Web Ad Blocking /cryptojacking/hacking protection is not working; what am I doing wrong?

For the longest time (since I moved from SG 9.5 5 months ago) I thought that the blocking was working but then I checked my logs and nada so today I wanted to prove to myself and yeap NADA. (Raspberry Pi PIHOLE was doing the heavy lifting and XG17 was just sitting on it's laurels).

So I blocked Auctions to test this and neither EBAY, ALLEGRO, CRAIGSLIST is being blocked.

Here are my settings.

  • Hey Rick,

what firewall rule is shown as passing the traffic in the logviewer?

I have block ads and it works.

  • Hi Rick,

what rule does logviewer show that is passing the traffic?

I also have the search engine enforcement enabled.

I do find the reporting to be very strange. All the devices that access the web are shown as the web hosts.

Update:- looking at your rules in greater detail I suspect your rule 10 is allowing the traffic out for the PI. Try disabling rule 10 and see what happens.
