Client side send and receive errors with regards to email encryption.

Hi

Due to the size of the company i've configured a business rule for email but each client connects via pop3s or IMAPS external.  My pop3 clients, when they first open outlook send and receive works fine. Soon as they create a new email and send it they are prompted to use a certificate provide by the XG firewall. Once thy accept the certificate they can send and receive email all day long with no problems apart from an odd send and receive error :-

All clients after no usage of email, when the client who already has accepted a certificate from the firewall they create a new email, hit send it fails. The retry sending the email and on the forth attempt its successfully.  Can't see anything in the log report an error.  what could be cause the intermittent behaviour.

For some reason my IMAPS clients are not prompted to download a certificate from the filewall using the business rule when they send an email.  no idea why.

I've been told to use a network rule but I would lose the functionality of the logs/spooler, pop3s/imaps rules and Av etc

Anyone else seeing the behaviour

Regards

J
