moving from hdd to msata ssd, best options?

Hi,

I need to swap the storage on the XG firewall going from hdd to msata.

Is it best i do a clean install and restore from backup?

Any other simpler options anyone can suggest?

Thanks

  • Hi - I am about to do the same thing (avoiding a hard drive failure). However, won't I lose all of my logs - hence reporting from the last up to 1 year.

So either is there a way to:

    1) export/import the logs from the previous install

    2) boot into a USB linux and copy the whole install from one disc to another?

    3) Some other way to not lose logs?

  • Paul,

on internet you can find "clone hdd" utility to clone the content from one hdd to another (same for ssd).

I used a paid product (we have a license for that) to perform the clone operation.
