How to setup DNS so local DNS resolves.

Hello community,

I'm a bit confused as to how to go about settings up DNS/DHCP so that I can resolve local addresses  such as myserver.local

I'm just wondering if there is a simple guide anyone can point me to, or give me a quick rundown, I'd much appreciate it.  So far have not been able to figure it out, so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks much

  • Hi Christopher,

If you want DNS and DHCP integration you will need to use a local server, the XG DNS does not talk to the XG DHCP server. If you do not have access to a local server then will need to create each device in the XG with an fqdn and you will need to create them in the DHCP server as static users.
